The CardRoom.com HeadHunter Challenge™ is an exciting new tournament format in which players earn cash
bounties for each opponent they eliminate or "bust" from the event. For details on the HeadHunter Challenge™
tournament format, click here.
Re-Buy HeadHunter Challenge™ Events
Ever wish you could buy back into a HeadHunter Challenge™ Event when a juicy
bounty is tantalizingly short-stacked at your table? Or have you ever wished for
a small bounty on your own head so that you could fly under the radar instead of
wearing the big fat target that accompanies a big one? If so, then the CardRoom.com
Re-Buy HeadHunter Challenge™ format is the event for you!
This tournament format incorporates re-buys and add-ons with CardRoom.com's exclusive
HeadHunter Challenge™ bounty format. These tournaments are identical to standard
HeadHunter Challenge™ events with the exception that members can re-buy without
limitation during the first hour of the event provided that they meet the minimum
re-buy requirements and they may also make a single tournament chip add-on during
the first break.
Re-Buy Bounties
As with all HeadHunter Challenge™ Events, registration closes the moment the
tournament begins and the first hands are dealt. At that time, the initial starting
bounties are calculated as they would be in a standard HeadHunter Challenge™
Event. However, all members who subsequently re-buy or add-on during the tournament
will have the base minimum bounty amount (as determined by the initial bounty calculation)
added to their current bounty amount for each re-buy or add-on purchased. Thus,
for those members who make an immediate re-buy upon seating and before the event
starts will have the base minimum bounty amount added to their initial starting
bounty amount. Since the base minimum bounty will always be less than the re-buy
amount, the remainder of the re-buy amount, less the tournament fee, will be added
to the direct payout prize pool, meaning that as participants re-buy and add-on,
not only will there be additional bounties to be claimed, but the overall event
prize pool will continue to grow as well!
If a member is reduced to zero (0) chips in any given hand, that member's current
bounty is awarded to the member or members who won that hand. The losing member's
bounty is then reset to $0.00. If the losing member elects to re-buy at that time,
the member's new bounty amount is set as the base minimum bounty, regardless of
that member's initial starting bounty amount. If the member buys back in and also
immediately re-buys, then that member's new bounty will be two times (2X) the base
minimum bounty.
For example, if the initial starting bounties in a Re-Buy HeadHunter Challenge™
Event ranged from $2.00 to $10.00, then the base minimum bounty would be set at
$2.00. If a member's initial starting bounty was determined to be $5.00 and that
member re-bought, then the member's bounty would be increased by the base minimum
bounty amount, from $5.00 to $7.00. If that member was busted from the tournament
and then elected to buy back in, the member's new bounty would be $2.00. In this
scenario, if the full re-buy amount was $5.00 (not counting the tournament fee)
then $2.00 would be assigned to the member's new bounty and $3.00 would be added
to the direct payout prize pool for the event.
Extreme Headhunters Challenges™
How do you make a HeadHunter Challenge™ even more exciting? Tip the prize pool
scale 100% to bounties, that's how! In an Extreme HeadHunter Challenge™,
the entirety of the prize pool will be allocated to bounty assignments and
there will be no prize pool payouts based upon tournament placement. Also,
any player who makes it to the final table is guaranteed at minimum their
buy-in back in Tournament Cash!
